Job summary

Washington National Opera seeks a Manager of Individual Giving to lead the annual fund, growing the donor base and sustaining mainstage productions, artists, and programs. You will plan and execute campaigns, manage a portfolio of annual fund and membership donors, and drive donor acquisition and retention.

You will deliver donor concierge service, coordinate ticket requests, and maintain donor records in Tessitura, ensuring a personalized, memorable experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 4–6 years of individual giving, annual fund, or membership fundraising.
• Proven success with multichannel annual giving campaigns.
• Experience cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors.
• Experience with donor acquisition and converting patrons into donors.
• Familiarity with moves management and pipeline practices.
• Experience collaborating with major gifts colleagues.
• Nonprofit CRM database experience required; Tessitura preferred.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret campaign data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; exceptional hospitality with donors.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual fund campaigns and donor programs across channels.
• Set revenue and donor goals with the Director of Development and track progress.
• Manage a portfolio of annual fund and membership donors with outreach and stewardship.
• Analyze campaign results and refine future strategies.
• Provide donor concierge services and manage ticket requests with relevant teams.
• Maintain donor records in Tessitura to ensure personalized interactions.
• Identify new ways to attract patrons into the donor pipeline.
• Collaborate with Major and Leadership Gifts to upgrade donor gifts.
