Job summary

Vanderbilt University seeks an Assistant Director of Donor Events to lead the execution of donor-facing and internal events that support engagement and fundraising priorities. This role partners with Development and Alumni Relations to deliver high-quality, donor-centered experiences aligned with DAR standards at Vanderbilt.

The position oversees planning calls, site visits, vendor communications, and on-site event delivery, ensuring consistent execution across multi-day programs and receptions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
• Two or more years of experience in managing complex events, programs, campaigns, or related development activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and execution of donor-facing events, including stewardship events, recognition programs, internal department events, leadership meetings, and receptions.
• Develop and manage event budgets and proposals for assigned programs.
• Recruit and train staff volunteers and serve as on-site volunteer manager when needed.
• Coordinate venue, catering, vendor communications, and site visits to meet event design goals.
• Create day-of timelines and runs of show for vendors, staff, and campus partners.
