Job summary

Merrimack College in North Andover, MA is seeking an Annual Giving Officer to manage discovery, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of Merrimack Fund donors. This role covers three donor segments and a portfolio of up to 200 prospects, with engagement across in-person, virtual, phone, and email channels.

Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations, you will partner with Major Gifts and college colleagues to build participation and upgrades from GOLD,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree + 1–3 years in development or related field.
  • Preference for higher education fundraising experience.
  • Sophisticated interpersonal skills to develop donor relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and cultivate a portfolio of up to 200 Merrimack Fund donors and prospects across three areas: GOLD, under $5,000, and $5,000–$24,999.
  • Build relationships with graduates of the last decade, annual donors under $5,000, and mid-level donors in collaboration with Major Gifts.
  • Leverage face-to-face and virtual meetings, phone calls, emails, and other communications to build donor relationships and increase giving.
  • Execute outreach campaigns tied to College initiatives and year-end efforts.
  • Meet fundraising metrics and track activity in the CRM system.
  • Collaborate with the Annual Giving team on data analysis and targeted stewardship.
  • Support giving societies through event planning, stewardship, and communications; assist with events.
  • Partner with colleagues across Advancement and volunteers to strengthen alumni engagement.
  • Some evening, weekend, and out-of-town travel required.
