Job summary

Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Inc. seeks a Donor Engagement Manager to plan, execute, and evaluate donor-focused events that deepen engagement and strengthen relationships with supporters.

The role requires coordinating logistics for in-person and virtual events and partnering with the Advancement team to support cultivation strategies. The position is full-time, salary range $50,000–$55,000, and hybrid, with responsibilities including donor stewardship, event communications, and staff liaison

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of event planning experience, preferably nonprofit or performing arts.
• Ability to interact with senior-level executives, volunteers, and donors in person and via phone/email/mail.
• Discretion, tact, confidentiality, and independent initiative.
• Strong collaboration across teams and excellence in project management.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and evaluate donor-focused events to deepen engagement.
• Coordinate logistics for in-person and virtual events using event tools.
• Design donor experiences and support retention strategies with staff partners.
• Create event timelines, budgets, and run-of-show documents; manage vendors and expenses.
