Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Dell Medical School seeks a Transformational Gifts Writer, Development to drive donor-focused communications and impactful storytelling. You will lead writing for proposals, cases for support, and campaign materials, collaborating with faculty and marketing to align with brand standards and fundraising goals.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Development Communications, you will edit and craft narratives across channels, manage deadlines, and guide messaging

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field with at least 5 year(s) of experience in developing and leading fundraising or marketing communications strategy for a large institution of higher education, nonprofit or corporate office within the health sciences.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
• Executive Order GA-48 compliance for critical infrastructure responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Advises internal clients on communications needs across the giving cycle, aligned with fundraising priorities.
• Leads the creation of donor-focused cases for support and gift opportunities.
• Translates complex academic and clinical priorities into donor-ready narratives.
• Serves as lead writer for externally facing content and internal communications.
• Ensures messaging is brand-aligned and consistent across channels.
