Job summary

Goodwill Houston is seeking a Donor Acquisition Specialist to welcome donors, process donations, and maintain accurate donation records. You will support customer service, coordinate with the Transportation Department, and help keep the donation area organized and safe.

The role requires strong communication, reliability, and a flexible schedule to meet daily donor flow and department needs at our Houston location.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.
• Retail sales experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Flexible schedule and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Greet each donor to accept donations with a cheerful and pleasant disposition.
• Provide excellent customer service to donors and visitors.
• Unload and sort materials in the donation area according to guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of donations and issue receipts.
• Communicate with Transportation Department and participate in online meetings.
• Assist with keeping production supplies available and assist with loading/unloading merchandise.
• Contribute to safety and cleanliness and perform janitorial tasks as needed.
• Report incidents promptly and perform other duties as assigned.

Pay: $14.00 hr.

Position Summary

Accepts donations according to GWH guidelines. Sort and process donations. Responsible for performing assigned duties adhering to and all policies and procedures. To ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and stewardship of GWH to maximize profitability to enhance our Mission.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Greet each donor to accept donations with a cheerful and pleasant disposition.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Unload and sort materials in the donation area according to GWH guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of donations and issue completed donation receipts to all donors.
• Ability to communicate directly with the Transportation Department and participate in online meetings.
• Assist with keeping production supplies available.
• Assist with loading and unloading merchandise and equipment as needed.
• Assist with the security and safety of GWH team members and property.
• Perform necessary janitorial work.
• Must report all work incidents and injuries immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience is preferred.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Must have reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

The ability to stand, twist, bend, squat, reach, kneel, push, and pull. Able to lift, up to, 40 lbs. and, occasionally, lift/move items, up to, 100 lbs. (e.g., large bags of donations, televisions, furniture, etc.) Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

An indoor work environment with occasional exposure to outside temperatures. The noise level in the normal work environment is, usually, moderate.
