Job summary

Goodwill Houston seeks a team-oriented donor services associate to welcome donors, sort and categorize donations, and maintain accurate donation records. You will coordinate with the Transportation Department, assist with production supplies, and help with loading and unloading items as needed.

The role requires a flexible schedule, reliable transportation, and strong communication with diverse donors and staff. A clean safety and housekeeping mindset is essential in this indoor work environment.

Qualifications

• Retail sales experience is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Greet each donor to accept donations with a cheerful and pleasant disposition.
• Unload and sort materials in the donation area according to GWH guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of donations and issue completed donation receipts to all donors.
• Ability to communicate directly with the Transportation Department and participate in online meetings.
• Assist with keeping production supplies available.
• Assist with loading and unloading merchandise and equipment as needed.
• Assist with the security and safety of GWH team members and property.
• Perform necessary janitorial work.
• Must report all work incidents and injuries immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

• Customer Ambassador Program (CAP): Receiving surveys (getting customers to participate) and favorable feedback.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

The ability to stand, twist, bend, squat, reach, kneel, push, and pull. Able to lift, up to, 40 lbs. and, occasionally, lift/move items, up to, 100 lbs. (e.g., large bags of donations, televisions, furniture, etc.) Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

An indoor work environment with occasional exposure to outside temperatures. The noise level in the normal work environment is, usually, moderate.
