Job summary

The Salvation Army in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to lead a team responsible for donation pickups. You will plan, supervise, and evaluate the work of drivers and helpers to ensure pickups are conducted on time and in accordance with policy.

You will monitor the pickup system, address issues to maintain productivity, ensure accountability of donated merchandise, and enforce safety standards while delivering courteous service to donors and customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
• Four years of experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van.
• One year of supervisory experience or equivalent training/experience.
• Valid State Driver's License; Commercial Driver's License is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, plans, assigns, and evaluates the work of transportation personnel to ensure timely and efficient donation pickups.
• Monitors pickup system effectiveness and initiates corrective actions to maintain productivity.
• Ensures accountability of all donated merchandise and vehicle maintenance.
• Ensures safety standards are observed and customers are treated courteously.
