Job summary

Red White & Blue Thrift Store is seeking a Presorter to manage the initial sorting of donated items. You will open bags, route items to the correct departments, and perform an early condition check to decide if an item is sale-ready.

The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina (lift up to 70 lbs), and teamwork in a fast-paced, busy thrift environment. Prior thrift/retail exposure is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in thrift, retail, warehouse, or back of house preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle heavy lifting and material sorting of donated items, adhering to safety guidelines.
• Open bags or boxes and sort items into appropriate tubs or bins by department.
• Conduct initial assessment of each item's condition to determine sale readiness.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sorting area and ensure items are in designated areas.
• Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members and follow store procedures to streamline sorting.
• Collaborate with team to achieve daily sorting targets and maintain productivity.
• Assist with other tasks as needed to support thrift store operations.
