Job summary

Red White & Blue Thrift Store is seeking a Presorter to help sort donated items and direct them to the appropriate departments. You will open bags, separate items into tubs, and perform an initial condition check to decide if items are sale-ready, ensuring accurate arrivals documentation and smooth workflow.

In this role, you will support a fast-paced thrift environment, maintain area cleanliness, follow safety guidelines, and communicate with teammates to meet daily sorting targets.

Qualifications

• Previous thrift, retail, warehouse, or back of house experience is preferred, but not required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle heavy lifting and material sorting of donated items, including clothing, textiles, cardboard, plastics, furniture, electronics, and other items, while adhering to safety guidelines.
• Open bags or boxes of donated items and accurately sort them into appropriate tubs or bins by department.
• Conduct initial assessment of each item's condition to determine suitability for sale and ensure accurate documentation of arrivals.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the sorting area, ensuring items are placed in designated areas.
• Follow strict safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and maintain a safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members, following store procedures and coordinating with colleagues to streamline sorting operations.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve daily sorting targets and maintain productivity.
• Assist with other tasks as needed to support thrift store operations.
