Job summary

Goodwill Outlet Store Waterloo in Waterloo, IA is hiring a Sales Associate for a full-time role. You will greet customers, process sales, receive donations, unload trucks, and help with stocking and merchandising while keeping the store clean and safe.

YP osition requires a 16+ age, good communication, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance, and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Forklift license may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive attitude and enthusiasm.
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull fifty pounds with assistance.
• Reliable transportation and a flexible schedule across evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Willing to obtain forklift license if able.
• Ability to use good judgment, discretion, and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers and provides excellent service.
• Sorts and grades donations and truck shipments to keep stock well‑stocked with high quality merchandise.
• Operates cash register and ensures quick, friendly checkout.
• Identifies merchandise for online sales and handles according to procedure.
• Marks and stocks new goods following process/procedure.
• Greets donors and unloads items, ensuring a positive donor experience.
• Distributes donations to proper areas and records donation counts.
• Offers tax receipt forms to donors.
• Sorts material to minimize waste and maximize salvage value.
• Maintains store and donation area cleanliness and safety; reports repairs.
• Trains new team members on job duties.
• Works with the team to maximize service opportunities and continuous improvement.
• Assists with loading/unloading trucks and preparing outgoing loads.
• Supports forklift operation and equipment safety.
