Job summary

The Salvation Army store in Alabama is seeking an attentive cashier to assist customers and donors. You will ring up sales, handle cash, balance the cash drawer, and prepare receipts and deposits, ensuring security and accuracy in all cash handling tasks.

Responsibilities include helping donors locate loading areas, answering policy questions, packaging items, and maintaining a clean, organized cash wrap area. Prior retail experience is preferred; English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. required or preferred.
• Experience in a retail store is preferred.
• Ability to operate a cash register and count change.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers purchasing items by ringing up sales and handling cash.
• Prepare and balance the cash drawer and run routine register print-outs.
• Prepare and deposit bank deposits.
• Maintain neat and secure cash wrap area and stock forms/bags.
• Explain store policies and respond to pricing/purchasing questions.
• Assist customers donating items and provide tax receipts when needed.
