Job summary

Red White & Blue Thrift is seeking a Driver to operate a box truck for pickups of donated items, including furniture, household goods, clothing, and more. You will securely load, record donor information, and ensure items are transported to our warehouse with care.

Ideal candidates have a valid driver’s license, a clean MVR, and the ability to work independently on a flexible schedule while delivering excellent donor service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license is required.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a motor vehicle records check.
• Proven ability to operate a box truck safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations for large commercial vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and adhere to a schedule.
• Proficiency in maneuvering the truck in tight spaces.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate route changes.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a box truck following all traffic rules and regulations.
• Follow pickup routes efficiently to maximize donations and minimize travel time.
• Communicate with donors courteously and professionally.
• Load and unload donated items safely.
• Ensure items are handled with care and securely packed during transport.
• Maintain a clean, organized pickup vehicle and report safety concerns.
• Record donation details and donor information accurately.
• Provide exceptional customer service and represent the organization well.
• Report unique or valuable donations to management.
• Follow health and safety protocols when handling items.
• Unload donations upon returning to the store and organize for sorting.
• Stay informed about the organization's mission for donor communication.
• Attend training sessions to stay updated on procedures.
