Job summary

Red White & Blue Thrift is seeking a Driver to operate a box truck for donor pickups, handling items from donors and maintaining accurate donation records. The role emphasizes excellent customer service and safe lifting of items.

You will follow designated routes, load/unload donations, and ensure items are securely transported to the warehouse or designated locations, while adhering to vehicle safety and health protocols.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass a motor vehicle records check.
• Proven ability to operate a box truck safely and efficiently.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations applicable to large commercial vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and adhere to a set schedule.
• Proficiency in maneuvering the truck in tight spaces.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate changes in pickup routes or schedules.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a box truck following all traffic rules and regulations.
• Follow designated pickup routes efficiently to maximize the number of donations collected and minimize travel time.
• Communicate with donors courteously and professionally while coordinating pickups.
• Load and unload donated items into and out of the pickup vehicle safely.
• Ensure that items are handled with care and securely packed to prevent damage during transportation.
• Maintain a clean and organized pickup vehicle, conducting regular inspections, and reporting any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Accurately record donation details, including item descriptions and donor information.
• Provide exceptional customer service, thanking donors for their contributions and positively representing the organization.
• Attend training sessions and meetings to improve skills and stay current on procedures and policies.
