Job summary

Central Union Mission in Washington, DC seeks a dedicated professional to manage regular donation pickups and support operations. The role requires driving a commercial box-truck in city and highway traffic and building donor relationships.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, documenting receipts, performing truck checks, and coordinating with staff and volunteers across the DC area. CDL is preferred but not required; requires high school diploma and legal work authorization.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience as a professional truck driver.
• Authorized to legally work in the United States.
• ServSafe and other food handling training (training provided on hire).
• Experience driving in city and highway traffic.
• Able to read a map and use GPS technology.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial box-truck with a liftgate in city and highway traffic.
• Pick up large donations of food daily from various suppliers on a scheduled basis.
• Build positive relationships with regular donors.
• Load and unload food from trucks; ensure receipts are completed legibly and documented.
• Ensure proper food handling and storage; perform daily truck inspections.
• Weekly deliveries to other Mission ministry locations in DC area; assist with events.
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to support ministry programs.
