Job summary

City Thrift Nashville is seeking a motivated, results-oriented driver for a full-time, first-shift role with a fixed schedule and limited weekend work. You will drive a large box truck, load donations, and provide excellent customer service to donors and customers.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of box truck driving experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a DOT physical. You will help expand donation routes and maintain clean, safe sites in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Must be 25 years of age or older.
• 2+ years driving a box truck or similar vehicle.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• DOT medical certificate required.
• MVR must meet company insurability.
• Background check and hair follicle drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a large box truck.
• Provide outstanding customer service to donors and customers.
• Build safe, efficient truckloads following company standards.
• Maintain donation box sites and routes for collections.
• Assist in development of routes and trailer/site placements.
• Keep donation sites and routes clean and orderly per protocols.
• Work safely loading/unloading trucks and trailers.
• Work in heat, cold, and wet weather as needed.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Possess the ability to drive and operate a large box truck
• Demonstrate outstanding customer service to all donors and customers
• Build safe and efficient truckloads of donations using company operational standards
• Help build, sustain, maintain donation box sites and routes for donation collections
• Assist in the future development of routes, donation box and trailer site placements
• Maintain clean and orderly donation sites and routes based on company operational protocols and standards
• Work safely and efficiently in loading and unloading trucks and trailers
• Possess the ability to regularly work in the heat, the cold and in wet weather conditions

Qualifications:

• Must be 25 years of age.
• 2+ years driving a box truck or like vehicle
• Must possess valid state driver’s license.
• Must meet Department of Transportation medical requirements by passing a DOT physical.
• Applicant’s Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet company insurability requirements.
• Applicant must be willing to submit to a background check and hair follicle drug screen.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Capable of bending, stooping, crouching, pushing, pulling and climbing stairs and in and out of a truck frequently.
