Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a reliable Material Handler to support thrift store operations in Lewiston, Idaho. You will receive donations, sort items for resale or recycling, maintain organized work areas, and assist with basic facility tasks in a fast-paced environment.

This role involves customer interaction on the sales floor, cash register use, and collaborating with management to prioritize facility projects.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Experience in warehouse environment or similar work.
• Preferred experience with disassembly of electrical items and computer equipment.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve donations from vehicles at the donation door.
• Sort donated items and place items in the proper processing areas.
• Identify items for recycling potential as needed.
• Maintain a clean work area and secure tools for recycling and facility operations.
• Process recycling donations, identification, pricing and sorting.
• Assist management with facility projects and improvements prioritized by need.
• Assist front-end operations and use cash register as needed.
• Mentor and train staff/volunteers on recycling or sales potential.
