Job summary

The Salvation Army in Minneapolis is hiring a Donation Pickup & Delivery Driver (Local Routes) to transport materials for donors and ARC operations. This full-time role requires a valid driver's license, DOT screening, and strong customer service skills.

Expect daily driving, route adherence, and safety compliance in a mission-driven environment. You will use mobile apps and payroll systems on the job, support work therapy goals, and represent the organization professionally on every donor

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent required.
• At least two years of licensed driving experience.
• Must pass pre-employment DOT screen, drug test, and background check.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Basic computer skills including payroll systems.
• Proficiency with mobile applications.
• Strong professional demeanor and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Transportation & Logistics: follow scheduled routes, drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries, ensure safe handling of goods, perform daily vehicle inspections, comply with DOT/OSHA regulations.
• Customer Service: act as a representative of The Salvation Army, treat donors courteously, communicate donation policies, report pickup problems, maintain ARC dress code.
• Operations Support: use DSS program and iPad apps, assist work therapy goals, assist with loading/unloading, wear PPE, report safety concerns promptly.

Job Overview

Join our team in "Doing the Most Good " as a Production Assistant/Driver at our Adult Rehabilitation Center. We're seeking a professional and courteous driver to transport materials to and from specified destinations. This role is essential in representing The Salvation Army while providing exceptional service to our donors and maintaining efficient operations.

Pay Rate: $18.37

Status: Full Time, 40 Hours per Week

Key Responsibilities

Transportation & Logistics

• Follow scheduled routing procedures efficiently
• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries
• Ensure security and safe handling of all goods and materials
• Perform daily pre and post-trip inspections of vehicles
• Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations

Customer Service

• Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army
• Ensure all donors are treated courteously and respectfully
• Communicate donation acceptance policy with donors
• Report any pickup problems to dispatcher
• Maintain professional appearance per ARC dress code

Operations Support

• Use DSS program and assigned iPad apps effectively
• Support beneficiaries in work therapy goals through training and mentoring
• Handle loading and unloading of trucks as needed
• Wear all assigned PPE including gloves, masks, and back guard
• Report any safety or security concerns immediately

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High School Degree or equivalent
• At least two years licensed driving experience
