The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Davenport, IA is hiring a Donation Pickup & Delivery Driver. This full-time role pays $18.00 per hour with a 40-hour schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

Donation Pickup & Delivery Driver

About the Role

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community.We're seeking a professional and courteous driver to transport materials to and from specified destinations. This role is essential in representing The Salvation Army while providing exceptional service to our donors and maintaining efficient operations.

What You’ll Do

Transportation & Logistics

• Follow scheduled routing proceduresefficiently

• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries

• Ensure security and safe handling of all goods and materials

• Perform dailypre and post-trip inspections of vehicles

• Maintain equipment in excellent workingorder

• Comply with all DOT and OSHAregulations

• Train and Certify New Production Assistants

Customer Service

• Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army

• Ensure all donors are treated courteously and respectfully

• Communicate donation acceptance policy with donors

• Report any pickup problems to dispatcher

• Maintain professional appearance per ARC dresscode

Operations Support

• Use DSS program and assigned iPad apps effectively

• Support beneficiaries in work therapy goals through training and mentoring

• Handle loading and unloading of trucks asneeded

• Wear all assigned PPE including gloves, masks, and backguard

• Report any safety or security concerns immediately

What You Need

Required

Education & Experience

• High School Degree or equivalent

• At least two years licensed drivingexperience

• Must pass pre-employment DOT screen, drug test, and backgroundcheck

• Strong communication skills in English

• Basic computer skills including payrollsystem

• Proficiency with mobile applications

Required Certifications
