Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from paramedic, nursing, PA, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic training.
• If from a foreign medical school, must be licensed as physician or EMT in the state.
• For NY: state licensure or certification in RN, MD or DO or reciprocity.
• Minimum of one year of healthcare experience.
• Experience in plasma/blood collection environment preferred.
• Ability to perform physical assessments (heart, lungs, signs of drug use).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews.
• Consult with Center Medical Director on donor suitability.
• Review test results to determine continued donor suitability.
• Notify and counsel donors on reactive test results; refer for follow-up.
• Follow SOPs and escalate critical situations to physicians as needed.
