Job summary

Alabama Goodwill Industries is seeking a Donation Center Trainer to support donor service, security and maintenance across donation sites. Under supervision of the Donation Centers Manager or designee, you will greet donors, unload donations, issue receipts, and maintain accurate donor records.

You will also sort donations, secure items for transport to stores and warehouse, manage supplies, and help cover shifts as needed.

• Read, write and communicate verbally; basic math skills.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Open availability is needed.
• Must have reliable means of transportation.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner; unload donations from vehicles and offer tax receipts.
• Maintain accurate daily counts of donations and keep donor records.
• Sort donations and secure items to be transported to stores and warehouse.
• Keep a record of donations and maintain supplies efficiently.
• Secure and appropriately use supplies and adhere to safety practices.
• May cover shifts and work at different donation sites as needed.

SUMMARY:At Alabama Goodwill Industries, our Mission is to help change lives through the power of work. We serve our community by providing employment development services and placement assistance for employment. Our programs are supported with profits generated through the sale of donated goods in our Retail Stores.Under the general supervision of the Donation Centers Manager, a trainer, or another designee, is responsible for customer service, facility security and maintenance, greeting and assisting donors, breakdown of donations and maintenance of accurate donor records. Also, may be responsible for covering work shifts and working at different donation sites as needed which are regularly permanently assigned, or closer to the team member's home.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Ensures 100% donor and customer delight.Greets donors in a prompt, friendly, and courteous manner within 10 seconds; unloads donations from vehicles, offer tax receipts and maintain accurate daily counts of donations.Sorts donations and secure items to be transported to stores and warehouse.Keeps a record of donations.Responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies in an efficient manner.
