Job summary

Goodwill Industries in Elkhart, IN is seeking a Full Time Donation Center Associate to provide exceptional customer service while receiving, pricing, and sorting donations at the Elkhart Donation Center. The role reports to the Donation Center Manager and supports a fast-paced, organized operation.

You will engage donors at the Drive-Thru, process and price items, ensure safety compliance, and help unload trucks. Flexible availability and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Flexible availability.
• Able to frequently bend, twist, reach above shoulder level, push and pull, crouch or stoop, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read, write, and perform simple math calculations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist donors at the Donation Drive-Thru, unloading and staging donations.
• Sort, size, hang, and price items before moving to staging.
• Maintain a secure, safe environment and follow safety protocols.
• Assist with loading/unloading trucks for merchandise movement.
• Keep the donation center clean, organized, and efficient.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Objective:

To provide a positive donor experience by providing exceptional customer service while efficiently receiving, pricing, and sorting donations. Support the overall operations of a fast-paced Donation Center to maintain an organized and productive environment. This position reports to the Donation Center Manager who evaluates performance annually.

Essential Job Functions:

• Greet and assist donors at the Donation Drive-Thru, professionally unloading and handling donations while placing them in the appropriate staging area.
• Efficiently process donations by sorting, sizing, hanging, and accurately pricing items before moving them to designated staging areas.
• Help maintain a secure and safe environment for both employees and donors, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks to facilitate the movement of merchandise .
• Keep the donation center clean, organized, and running efficiently.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications: Required Education and Skills:

• Basic knowledge of current clothing, shoe styles, furniture, toys, wares, brand names, materials, and pricing.
• Ability to read, write, and perform simple math calculations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with donors, customers, and coworkers.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow standard retail procedures and operational guidelines.
