Job summary

The Salvation Army Orange Store in Orange, CA is seeking a dedicated Donation Attendant to manage the donation area, assist donors, and process receipts. This role supports the ARC program and relies on teamwork and attention to detail.

As a full-time team member, you will handle daily reports, ensure proper sorting of donations, and assist with equipment loading. Competitive hourly pay with benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Must pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow employees, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and cleaning up the donation area and trailer/pod at start and end of shift.
• Assisting donors and providing receipts for donated items.
• Maintaining reports and paperwork as directed by Supervisor.
• Sorting donated materials into proper containers and stacking as instructed.
• Assisting TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as needed.
• Informing supervisor of needed items before running out (e.g., supplies).

As our enthusiastic and hardworking Donation Attendant, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Maintaining and cleaning up the area in and around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift
• Assisting the donor in the receipt of donated items from the donor and provide receipt
• Maintaining all reports and paperwork as instructed by Supervisor
• Separating and sorting all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stack material as instructed by the Supervisor
• Assisting TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations on to trucks as necessary
• Informing the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (i.e.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.)
• Securing and locking Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift

Qualifications to be considered for this position:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.
• Ability to move product up to 75lbs.
• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Pay Rate: $16.90 per hour

Schedule

• Work schedules are determined by Management and employee must be flexible to always ensure adequate coverage.
• Full-time employees may be scheduled to work any shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
