Job summary

The Salvation Army in San Francisco is seeking a Donation Attendant to support the Production department and daily thrift-store operations.

You will maintain the donation area, assist donors, issue receipts, and help in loading donations onto trucks under the Warehouse Supervisor. This full-time role requires neat appearance and reliable scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and donors
• Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean up the donation area around the trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift
• Appear neatly and cleanly dressed in suitable clothing as per The Salvation Army dress code policy
• Courteously assist the donor in the receipt of donated items from the donor and provide receipt
• Maintain all reports and paperwork as instructed by Supervisor
• Separate and sort all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stack material as instructed by the Supervisor
• Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary
• Inform the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (e.g.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.)
• Must secure and lock Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift
• Must be have flexible availability for scheduling purposes
• Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects up to 75lbs. with or without assistance
• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
