Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory's Buena Park Store is hiring a Donation Attendant to maintain the donation area, assist donors with receipts, and ensure accurate paperwork. You will sort items, load donations onto trucks with the team, and keep the trailer secure at shift end.

The role requires a high school diploma, background check, and good communication; pay is $16.90 per hour; full-time schedules with evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass background check (Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry).
• Able to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean the donation area and trailer/pod at start and end of shift.
• Assist donors with receipt of donated items and provide receipts.
• Maintain all reports and paperwork as directed by Supervisor.
• Sort donated material into proper containers and stack as instructed by the Supervisor.
• Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks as necessary.
• Inform supervisor of needed items (e.g., brooms, receipts, totes, carts).
• Secure and lock donation trailer/pod at end of shift.

As our enthusiastic and hardworking Donation Attendant, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Maintaining and cleaning up the area in and around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift


• Assisting the donor in the receipt of donated items from the donor and provide receipt


• Maintaining all reports and paperwork as instructed by Supervisor


• Separating and sorting all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stack material as instructed by the Supervisor


• Assisting TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations on to trucks as necessary


• Informing the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (i.e.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.)


• Securing and locking Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift

Qualifications to be considered for this position:

• High School graduate or equivalent.


• Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.


• Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions

Physical Demands:

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.


• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.


• Ability to move product up to 75lbs.


• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.


• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Pay Rate: $16.90 per hour

Schedule

• Work schedules are determined by Management and employee must be flexible to always ensure adequate coverage.


• Full-time employees may be scheduled to work any shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
