Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a dedicated Donation Attendant at our Fountain Valley Store to help run a smooth donation process and donor experience as part of our Retail Team.

You will be responsible for keeping the donation area organized, assisting donors with receipts, and supporting operations by sorting and loading donations. This full-time role offers benefits and growth opportunities within a mission-driven organization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and clean the Donation trailer/pod area at the start and end of each shift.
• Assist donors with receipt and donation intake.
• Maintain reports and paperwork as instructed by Supervisor.
• Sort donated material into proper containers and stack material as directed by Supervisor.
• Assist TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations onto trucks.
• Inform supervisor of needed items to keep supplies stocked.
• Secure and lock Donation trailer/pod at end of shift.

As our enthusiastic and hardworking Donation Attendant, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Maintaining and cleaning up the area in and around the Donation trailer/pod at the beginning and end of each shift


• Assisting the donor in the receipt of donated items from the donor and provide receipt


• Maintaining all reports and paperwork as instructed by Supervisor


• Separating and sorting all donated material into the proper containers, and properly stack material as instructed by the Supervisor


• Assisting TSA PA/Drivers with loading donations on to trucks as necessary


• Informing the supervisor of needed items prior to running out (i.e.: brooms, receipts, totes, carts, etc.)


• Securing and locking Donation trailer/pod at the end of each shift

Qualifications to be considered for this position:

• High School graduate or equivalent.


• Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.


• Ability to read and write and to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions


• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.


• Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.


• Ability to move product up to 75lbs.


• Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.


• Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation

Pay Rate: $16.90 per hour

Schedule

• Work schedules are determined by Management and employee must be flexible to always ensure adequate coverage.


• Full-time employees may be scheduled to work any shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
