Role Description

The Donation Attendant is a full-time, on-site role located in Plainfield, NJ. This role is responsible for greeting donors in a friendly and professional manner, receiving and safely handling donated items, and providing donation receipts as needed. The Donation Attendant sorts, organizes, and prepares donations for processing and merchandising, following company guidelines and safety standards. Daily tasks include maintaining a clean and orderly donation area, assisting with loading and unloading items, and communicating with store team members to ensure smooth operations. The role may also support basic customer service in the store and follow all loss prevention, health, and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide courteous, respectful donor and customer service, including clear communication and a helpful demeanor.
• Capability to lift, carry, and move items of varying sizes and weights, and to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
• Attention to detail in sorting, organizing, and handling donations safely and in accordance with store guidelines.
• Reliability in following procedures, including cash handling (if needed), documentation of donations, and basic recordkeeping.
• Willingness to work a full-time schedule that may include weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
• Ability to work collaboratively with store staff and supervisors, demonstrating professionalism and respect for diverse individuals.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior retail, warehouse, or customer service experience is beneficial but not required.
