Job summary

Goodwill-Industries-of-SAN-Joaquin seeks a Donation Attendant to welcome donors, process donations, and maintain accurate records. You will sort, stack, and move materials, load and unload trailers, and ensure compliant handling of E-waste and other items according to policy.

A high emphasis on safety, customer service, and efficient processing is required. No prior experience is required, but six months of customer service or material handling is desirable.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARYUnder the supervision of the Store Management Staff, the Donation Attendant is responsible for accepting donations from the public, distributing donation receipts, sorting, stacking, and moving raw material to the proper staging area. Loading and unloading trailers safely and effectively.ESSENTIAL DUTIESGreets and assists donors in a friendly and courteous manner. Demonstrates superior customer service at all times. Responsible for accepting or rejecting donations based on condition of items and Agency policy. Declines unacceptable donations in a friendly, positive manner.Records and maintains donor records in a neat and accurate manner. Enters donor count electronically throughout the day.Handles all donated materials in a careful and safe manner to maximize value.Record and maintain donations of Electronic Waste (E-Waste) accurately, legibly, and in accordance with the State of California recycling requirements.Ensure all material containers are properly labeled and scanned into and out of the electronic warehouse management system in a timely and accurate manner.Keeps work area free of safety hazards. Works in a safe, organized manner.Performs in-store processing duties as assigned.Places trash in appropriate containers.Regular attendance is required to perform the essential functions of the job.Observe and support all Agency policies and procedures, and audits.SECONDARY DUTIESMay perform processing and janitorial duties as directed by store management.Performs other related duties as assigned by the store management.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation Required: Elementary education.Experience Required: None required.
