Job summary

Goodwill Industries Of The Gulf Coast Inc is seeking a Cashier Trainee in a temporary role within the Donated Goods department. The position requires friendly, attentive service, accurate ringing of sales, and ensuring customers feel welcome. Training covers cash handling, donations, and store hygiene.

Temporary up to 90 days with potential conversion. Shifts may include nights and weekends; interviews are not required, and communication will occur via phone/text and email.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior work experience in the service industry preferred.
• Must be able to interact cordially and productively with a variety of people.
• Must be able to count money quickly and accurately.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers warmly and provides friendly, attentive service.
• Rings up sales transactions accurately.
• Balances cash drawers without discrepancies exceeding $5.00.
• Encourages donations through the change round up program.
• Maintains clean and orderly work area including restrooms.
• Assists with stocking and merchandising as directed by supervisor.
