Job summary

AIT Worldwide Logistics is seeking a Domestic Operations Supervisor to lead the Operations team, train employees, assign work, and manage vendor relationships globally to ensure timely shipments and high service levels. The role also involves supervising domestic service, improving processes, and supporting carriers, customers, and warehouses.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience required
• Minimum of 3-5 years freight forwarding experience
• Supervisor experience preferred
• Domestic experience required
• Forklift Certified, required
• CW or international experience a plus
• 1-3 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience and labor scheduling
• Experience working with AS400/Worldport a plus
• Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent time management skills, ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to multi-task in a high volume and fast-paced work environment
• Employee may be required to work hours other than the set shift hours to facilitate the completion of required work or resolve critical issues
• Must be available for occasional on-call duty
• Afterhours and weekend on call periodically, required.

Responsibilities

• Manage warehouse functions including inbound receipts, outbound shipments, storage and inventory control
• Improve processes, standardization and documentation for all operations shifts
• Oversee operations and service levels of logistics
• Inventory control and reconciliation for in-house customers
• Manage daily shipment routes and cartage, weekend coverage
• Schedule staff to maximize productivity and minimize expenses
• Track customer emails and respond to specific needs
• Coordinate with trucking companies, customers, brokers, and vendors
• Supervise daily domestic service and cartage, freight movement and quotes
• Identify and resolve service and operations issues at the station
• Research and resolve customer problems and complaints
• Coach team on performance and training
• Ensure safe working environment and safety programs
• Participate in interview and onboarding of new teammates
• Handle additional duties as needed
