Job summary

Fathers & Families Support Center in Missouri seeks a Facilitator to administer the FFSC curriculum for fathers in the program. You will assess each participant, facilitate group and individual sessions, and maintain scheduling and attendance records for each 6-week cycle.

You will help clients with personal and professional development, perform case management as needed, and build community partnerships. A valid MO license and reliable vehicle are required.

Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or GED, Associates degree preferred.
  • Must work well with men requiring parenting guidance and reentry support.
  • Must possess a valid Missouri driver’s license and have a reliable, insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and facilitate the FFSC curriculum and assess fathers.
  • Lead group and individual sessions and schedule activities.
  • Maintain calendar for each 6-week session and track attendance.
  • Assist clients with personal and professional development.
  • Conduct case management and make necessary referrals.

Job description

Job Status: Full-Time / Non-Exempt Direct Reports: N/A

Description of this role: The Facilitator is responsible for administering the FFSC curriculum to fathers in the program, completing an assessment of each father, facilitating group/individual sessions and scheduling, and maintaining a calendar of events for each 6-week session.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities - includes the following and other related duties may be assigned.

  • Department of Justice project working with the re-entry population and ex-offenders.
  • Workplace inside of transitional facility for those under the supervision of MO Department of Corrections.
  • Facilitate/administer the FFSC curriculum and expand knowledge in a classroom setting.
  • The administration of and electronic database entry of class attendance of each participant.
  • Assists clients with personal and professional development.
  • Have an awareness of the personal needs of clients and makes referrals as necessary to fulfill basic needs.
  • Weekly monitoring of case management for clients.
  • Facilitates all scheduled classroom activities and completion of monthly reporting.
  • Develop and maintain a network of community and social service agencies to use as resources for.
  • Markets the program throughout the community, e.g., TV, radio, newsletters, and newspapers.
  • May travel to multiple locations and/or work alternate sites.
  • Makes follow-up phone calls to potential and past clients and perform case management as needed.
  • Attend community fairs, local events, requires recruitment and community engagement.
  • Attend all internal and community meetings as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be culturally competent and have deep understanding of working with the re-entry/ex-offenders.
  • Ability to create strong relationships with participants and have knowledge of evidence-based reentry practices.
  • Must understand and practice the NASW code of ethics.
  • Must be able to utilize agency and community resources to meet goals.
  • Must be able to present curriculum-based material to large and small groups.
  • Must be team oriented and be able to work independently and multitask.
  • Must be familiar with MS Office Suite and have a general knowledge of legislation affecting fathers.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred.
  • Must have competence in working with men who need direction as it relates to parenting issues.
  • Must possess a valid Missouri driver’s license and have a reliable, insured vehicle.
