Job summary

Zoom Room Plymouth is seeking friendly, outgoing dog trainers for our first-of-its-kind facility. Professional dog training experience is required, and you must train using force-free, positive reinforcement methods; you will lead group classes and private sessions and help clients with training plans.

You will move and adjust agility equipment, work nights, weekends, and holidays, communicate with dog owners, maintain records, and contribute to a safe, positive training environment.

Qualifications

• Professional dog training experience required.
• Strong ability to communicate with people of all ages/backgrounds.
• Ability to lead small groups in classroom settings.
• Must move heavy agility equipment (up to 50lbs).
• Willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Cover front desk and provide customer service for training services/products.
• Lead list management, cold calling, and sales activities.
• Routine store cleaning.
• Conduct individual and group dog training sessions.
• Design personalized training programs for dogs.
• Provide guidance to pet owners on training techniques.
• Maintain records of each dog's progress.
• Ensure a safe, positive training environment for dogs and owners.

The Zoom Room Dog Training & Agility Gym and Canine Social Club is the first of its kind, and we are looking for friendly & outgoing dog trainers!

Professional dog training experience IS required, and you must have a strong desire to learn the Zoom Room way of dog training; using force-free, positive reinforcement training methods.

Our motto is “We don’t train dogs. We train the people who love them.” Therefore, you must also be able to communicate effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds in both a group and private setting.

Services

• Group Classes: Obedience, Agility, Tricks, Pup-lates, Rally Obedience, Puppy Preschool, and Puppy Training+.
• Specialized Workshops: Therapy Dog Training, Scent Work, Urban Herding (Treibball), and more.
• Private Lessons for any of the above, as well as behavioral problems such as leash reactivity, potty training, crate training, and other nuisance behaviors (jumping, biting, barking, etc) are also part of the duties of a Zoom Room Dog Trainer.

Required Experience

• Experience training dog(s) professionally using force-free positive reinforcement training methods or working knowledge of canines.
• The ability to communicate effectively to people of all ages and backgrounds.
• The energy, confidence, patience, and likeability to teach small groups of people in a classroom setting.
• Must be able to move and adjust heavy agility equipment (up to 50lbs) and be flexible enough to bend down easily to work with small dogs and puppies.
• The ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. (We are open 7 days a week and until 8 pm each evening. We close on Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, Easter, and Independence Day).
• Basic computer skills
• Must have access to and knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram).
• Must be 18 years or older.

Desired Experience

• Retail sales experience
• Experience using Apple products (desktop computer, iPad, iPhone)
• Highly desires completion of training program such as CATCH Canine Trainers Academy Certification and/or CPDT-KA or KSA

Example of Duties

• Cover the front desk & provide customer service to clients looking for training services and/or products. This position will begin as a front desk sales associate.
• Lead list management, cold calling, and sales activities.

• Design personalized training programs to meet each dog's specific needs.
• Provide guidance and support to pet owners on training techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of each dog's progress and behavior.
• Ensure a safe and positive training environment for both dogs and owners.
