Job summary

Bark Collective is seeking a Dog Trainer to join our full-service team in Costa Mesa, California. You will spend your days actively working with dogs inside our facility and in the community, teaching basic obedience and behavior modification through balanced training.

You will assess each dog's needs, create training plans, lead in-person and at-home sessions, and contribute to a high-end client experience.

Qualifications

• Must love dogs.
• Comfortable with E-collars and Prong collars.
• Fluent English speaker.
• Customer service oriented.
• Clean driving record.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and walk multiple dogs for up to 1 hour including hills.
• Comfortable with general care of dogs including feeding and cleanup.

Responsibilities

• Assess each dog's individual needs and behavior to create a training plan and select tools.
• Manage client care and communication face to face with clientele.
• Lead in-person and at-home training sessions.
• Work with dogs in the board & train program.
• Utilize balanced training to help dogs achieve training goals.

Dog Trainer

By becoming a Dog Trainer you will spend your days active inside our Facility and outdoors in the community with the dogs. From basic obedience to behavior modification, this position involves being hands on with each dog while teaching them to become a good canine citizen.

How you will make a difference:

You will ensure that the Bark Collective Vision, Values and Client experience is being upheld by:

• Assessing each dogs individual needs and behavior so that you can create a training plan and offer training tools that suit their needs.
• Managing Client Care and Communication face to face with Clientele.
• Leading in-person and at home training sessions.
• Working with dogs in our board & train program.
• Utilize balanced training to help a dog achieve their training goals.

*Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Requirements For Success:

• Must be a dog lover

• Be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and walk multiple dogs for up to 1 hour at a time including up hills.
• Must be comfortable with general care of dogs including feeding, cleanup (yep! picking up poop)

Job Type: Full- time Must be available to work Weekends.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour dependent upon experience

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Basic understanding of canine behavior is a plus.
