Role Description

Full- or part-time independent contractor position for an on-site role for a Dog Trainer and Coach located in the DMV. The Dog Trainer and Coach teaches alternative behaviors, prevents the rehearsal of undesired habits, and builds dog and dog parent resiliency skills. Our aim is to guide dogs experiencing over-arousal, anxiety, fear, and aggression to learn how to make better real-life choices. Dog parents learn to do the same, too.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing customized training plans
• Conducting training sessions in clients' homes
• Offering support and guidance to pet owners
• Organizing training workshops
• Teaching group classes in Bethesda, MD
• Staying updated on the latest training techniques and behavioral research

Qualifications

• Dog training and animal behavior skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with various training techniques and tools
• Certification in Dog Training or related field is a plus (CBCC, CPDT, VSA, KPA-CTP)
