Job summary

Camp Bow Wow Shelby Township is seeking staff to care for dogs in a friendly, high-energy environment. You will supervise play, ensure safety, and help with basic grooming and cleaning tasks.

The role requires a genuine love for dogs, reliability, and the ability to work mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays. Training is provided, and both full-time and part-time positions are available.

Qualifications

• Must have a genuine love for dogs and care about their wellbeing.
• Reliable, punctual and able to follow policies.
• Ability to multitask and communicate clearly with teammates.

• Previous kennel experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Have fun with the dogs!
• Provide kindness and respect to all dogs at all times.
• Ensure safety by following operations policies.
• Safely manage groups of up to 25 dogs in open play yards (indoor and outdoor).
• Understand the difference between dogs playing and dogs being aggressive.
• Clean up dog waste in play yards and maintain sanitary facilities.
• More cleaning... yes we do a lot of cleaning!
• Basic dog grooming, baths and nail trims.
• Standing on your feet all day long and cleaning (labor-intensive).
• Communicating effectively with peers and leadership.
• Always be dependable and on time.
• Demonstrating a positive, fun attitude.

• Ensure the safety of all of our campers by following strict operations policies
• Safely manage groups of up to 25 dogs in an open play yard environment (indoor and outdoor)

• Ensure a clean and sanitary facility
• More cleaning...yes we do a lot of cleaning!

• Standing on your feet all day long and cleaning (it is a very labor-intensive environment)
• Communicating effectively with peers and leadership

• Demonstrating a positive, fun attitude

Requirements:

• Minimum age requirement 18+ years old
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reliable transportation
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Able to pass a background/criminal check

Additional Info:

• Part-time and full-time positions available
• Hiring for both morning shift (6:15am-1pm) and afternoon shift (1-7:15pm)
• MUST be able to work weekends and holidays (including spring break, Memorial weekend, July 4th week, Labor Day weekend, Thanksgiving, & Christmas)
