Job summary

Barkside Lodge in Tennessee is hiring for a Full-Time Attendant to supervise outdoor and indoor dog play sessions. Starting pay is $15/hour, depending on experience.

You will read canine body language, manage playgroups, and ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all dogs. The role requires standing for extended periods and some weekend/holiday flexibility.

Qualifications

• Reading canine body language and responding appropriately.
• Ability to supervise groups of dogs in a play environment.
• Comfort working outdoors and transitioning to indoors when needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise off-leash play for groups of social daycare dogs.
• Read canine body language and respond appropriately to prevent stress and overstimulation.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming play area for the dogs in your care.
• Work is primarily outdoors supervising play, transitioning to indoor play during inclement weather.
• Maintain a maximum ratio of 12 dogs per attendant to support a safe & manageable social environment.

Full-Time Position

Starting at $15/hour, based on experience

Position overview & responsibilities:

• Supervise off-leash play for groups of social daycare dogs.
• Read canine body language and respond appropriately to prevent stress and overstimulation.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming play area for the dogs in your care.
• Work is primarily outdoors supervising play, transitioning to indoor play during inclement weather.
• Maintain a maximum ratio of 12 dogs per attendant to support a safe & manageable social environment.

A Day in the Life:

• Before 9am: Assist the front desk and kennel team with arrivals and daily tasks.
• 9am-12pm: Lead and supervise morning structured play session.
• 12pm-1pm: Take a break while the dogs and staff have lunch.
• 1pm-3pm: Lead and supervise afternoon structured play session.
• After 3pm: Reset play areas and support the rest of the team wherever needed.

• Must be able to stand for extended periods, work outdoors, and safely handle dogs of different sizes and energy levels.

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid drivers license
