Job summary

Friends of Switchpoint is seeking a BNB Dog Handler to care for dogs, maintain a safe and clean facility, and support program operations. You will learn and apply proper dog handling techniques, monitor dog interactions, and assist with daily records and health checks.

This role emphasizes compassion, attention to detail, and teamwork within a nonprofit environment. Competitive pay and a benefits package accompany full-time hours in Saint George, Utah.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent. Two years of work experience preferred.
• Previous experience working with animals preferred.
• Motivated self-starter with attention to detail and ability to lead and work in a team.
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Excellent written, verbal, computer and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Keep facility clean and sanitize kennels and equipment.
• Monitor dogs’ social time and use basic obedience commands.
• Identify and discourage overly excited or aggressive behavior and report issues.
• Maintain records and complete training for proper dog handling.
• Feed dogs and ensure their health and safety.
• Create a fun, engaging environment for dogs and staff.
