Pawville LLC in Pawleys Island, SC, is seeking a Bather to join our grooming team. This full-time, non-exempt role focuses on bathing and drying dogs, prepping them for grooming, and helping groomers deliver safe, high-quality care.

You will work in a busy, pet-friendly environment, washing, brushing, and coat-prepping dogs, with opportunities to assist in nail trimming and ear cleaning when trained. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards daily.

Formación

• Previous pet care, bathing, grooming, kennel, veterinary, or animal-handling experience preferred but not required.

Responsabilidades

• Bathe dogs according to Pawville grooming standards and each dog’s individual service needs including exit baths.
• Properly shampoo, condition, rinse, and dry dogs in preparation for their grooming appointment.
• Select and use appropriate shampoos, conditioners, and grooming products based on coat type, skin condition, and service instructions.
• Perform brushing, combing, and basic coat preparation before and after bathing.
• Assist with basic grooming preparation such as nail trimming (including walk-ins) and ear cleaning when trained and authorized.
• Identify matting, skin irritation, lumps, injuries, parasites, or other concerns and immediately communicate observations to the Groomer or manager.
• Follow Groomer instructions carefully to ensure each dog is properly prepared and ready for its scheduled groom.
• Help Groomers maintain an efficient workflow and keep appointments moving on schedule.
• Handle every dog with patience, compassion, and appropriate restraint techniques.
• Monitor dogs throughout bathing and drying for signs of stress, discomfort, overheating, illness, or unusual behavior.
• Follow all Pawville pet handling, safety, sanitation, and incident-reporting procedures.
• Never leave a dog unattended in a situation that could compromise its safety.
• Clean and sanitize tubs, tables, kennels, tools, dryers, and grooming areas between pets and throughout the day.
• Maintain clean towels and grooming supplies and notify leadership when inventory needs replenished.
• Assist with laundry, sweeping, disinfecting, and maintaining a clean and organized salon.
• Help ensure the grooming area meets Pawville’s cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards.
• Support the grooming team with additional duties as needed to create an exceptional experience for pets and their families.
• Assist in daycare, Petcare and other departments as needed.

Job Summary:

The Bather is an essential member of the Pawville Resorts grooming team, responsible for preparing dogs for professional grooming services by providing safe, thorough, and high-quality bathing and drying services. Working closely with Pawville Groomers, the Bather helps create an efficient grooming experience by ensuring dogs are clean, comfortable, properly dried, and prepared for the next stage of their groom.

Physical Requirements:

Pawville Team Members routinely perform the following physical demands. All Pawville Team Members are expected to perform these physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach and perform repetitive movements for up to 6 hours without a break.


• Repetitive hand and arm movement; reach, grab, pull, and push objects.


• Perform duties in an environment with loud sounds from animals and smells from pet waste and cleaning chemicals.


• Perform work both indoors and outdoors; experiencing temperature changes according to season, building heating and cooling, and weather.


• Lift up to 50lbs with or without assistance and safely handle and restrain dogs of varying sizes.
