Job summary

CityVet is seeking a Dog Bather/Groomer Assistant in Highlands Ranch, CO to support the groomer in maintaining pets’ appearance and handling client requests. You will help coordinate the grooming schedule and assist with bathing, nails, ears, and haircuts.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, being at least 18, and the ability to safely restrain animals. Prior grooming assistant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ at hire and have the ability to safely restrain animals.
• Experience as Groomer Assistant or Groomer Apprentice is desirable.
• Strong communication with clients and team.

Make pet care your purpose

The Dog Bather/Groomer Assistant is responsible for helping the groomer in maintaining the animal’s physical appearance by meeting the expectations and requests communicated by the client. It is the Groomer Assistant's job to help the Groomer to establish and cultivate lasting client relationships by providing high quality grooming services such as bathing, bathing supervision, nail trims, ear cleanings, anal gland expression and haircuts.

Essential qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age at the time of hire
• Understanding and ability to properly and safely restrain animals
• One Years’ experience as a Groomer Assistant or Groomer Apprentice is desired

A day in the life:

• Manage the grooming schedule to efficiently coordinate the demand of the client’s needs with the availability of the grooming staff, leading to an average completion of 10-12 grooms per day (w/bathing assistance) OR 6 grooms a day (w/o bathing assistance).
• Perform thorough client communication when establishing and maintaining electronic records, including client preferences or instructions for grooming, animal’s habits and sensitivities, and any other personal preferences or requests from the client.
• Properly train, supervise and develop all bathing team members on proper bathing policies and work to develop their skills in a positive manner on an ongoing basis.
