Job summary

Strategic Management Solutions, LLC (SMSI) seeks a Health and Safety Specialist to support a client onsite in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. You will promote a safe workplace by administering the Industrial Safety Program and guiding plant personnel and contractors daily, ensuring compliance with safety requirements.

The ideal candidate has construction safety experience, with CSP certification and a DOE Q clearance, and US citizenship. Strong communication and collaboration with management are essential.

Qualifications

• CSP certification or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in OSH or related field with 8+ years in construction safety.
• Active DOE Q security clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.
• Experience in Department of Energy projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with site personnel to identify hazards.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and implement controls.
• Attend daily pre-job safety briefings for construction activities.
• Provide safety guidance during off-shift operations.
• Assist with inspections, analyses, and evaluations of facilities, activities and equipment.
• Apply state and federal safety regulations during site oversight.
• Exercise full stop-work authority when safety is at risk.
• Participate in safety-related projects and assignments as directed.
