Job summary

Strategic Management Solutions, LLC (SMSI) is seeking a Health and Safety Specialist to support our client onsite in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The role ensures a safe, healthy work environment by administering the Industrial Safety Program and advising plant personnel and contractors on safety requirements.

The ideal candidate will have construction health and safety experience and active DOE Q clearance with U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

Must have active DOE Q clearance.
U.S. citizen required for the role.
CSP certification or equivalent safety credential required.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with site personnel to identify, evaluate, and control potential workplace hazards.
Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to ensure hazards are properly identified and controls are implemented.
Attend daily pre-job briefings for construction activities and provide safety guidance as needed.
Maintain regular communication with site management and contractors to ensure safety coverage during off‑shift operations.
Assist with inspections, analyses, and evaluations of planned work, plant facilities, contractor activities, materials, equipment, and conditions to identify hazards.
Apply state and federal safety regulations in day‑to‑day site oversight.
Ensure site compliance with industrial safety requirements and stop-work if safety rules are violated.
Participate in safety‑related projects and other assignments.
