Job summary

Compass Point, an Akima company, is seeking a STEN Systems Administrator to support DoD clients from Hurlburt Field, FL. Responsibilities include managing complex cybersecurity projects, coordinating with executives, and ensuring robust IT infrastructure and security controls across AD, DNS, and server environments.

The role requires Active Secret Clearance, DoD-specific certifications, and hands-on experience with security tools, incident response, and DISA STIG compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer or information science or a related field; or six years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active DoD clearance required (Secret).
• DoD 8570.01-M/DoDD 8140.01—Security+ minimum certification.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco IOS networks and VLANs.
• Experience with DISA STIG compliance and vulnerability assessment tools.

Responsibilities

• Configure, troubleshoot, and resolve HW/SW and network issues per DoD directives.
• Maintain and monitor vulnerability scanning software and remediate findings.
• Administer AD, DNS, WSUS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Provide cradle-to-grave support for workstations, servers, and mission apps.
• Perform disaster recovery and data backups as required.
