A leading company in the food distribution industry is seeking a Manager, Transportation. Manager, Transportation will foster a culture focused on safety, service, people, and cost through meaningful engagement with drivers, delivering best-in-class service to customers, and ensuring safe and profitable operations. They will leverage their transportation operations experience to manage personnel and drive efficient transportation activities, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely outbound shipments to customers and other distribution centers within the organization.
This application is only available to active-duty service members eligible for a DoD SkillBridge Internship. The service member must be within the last 12 months of their active-duty contract. This is an unpaid, non-benefit eligible internship in partnership with the DoD SkillBridge program.
Direct supervision of union and/or non-union drivers.
Internal: Transportation leaders, coworkers, drivers, warehouse leaders, and departments like Sales. External: Customers.
Time spent on the road, exposure to noise and vibration, and time in an office working on a computer.
Approximately 10%, mainly for meetings and training.
Ability to perform activities like driving, pushing/pulling, climbing, grasping, manipulating objects, and manual dexterity tasks.
Depends on experience, education, skills, location, and other factors. The expected base salary range is $55,000 - $90,000.
