Job summary

The Building People, LLC, is seeking an Electronic Security Engineer for Department of Defense projects. The engineer will design and provide technical support for access control, intrusion detection, and video management systems on facility projects.

Required: 5 years in electronic security or IT, expertise in enterprise ESS design, and knowledge of UL/NFPA/IBC/IFC standards. Travel to active sites and eligibility for a Secret clearance are expected.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in electronic systems or information technology with demonstrated experience in electronic security systems.
• Experience designing/integrating enterprise access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance systems.
• Familiarity with UL 294, UL 1076, NFPA 731, NFPA 70, IBC/IFC and UFGS ESS sections.
• Ability to prepare device schedules, risers, one-line diagrams, point lists, integration interfaces, and to produce as-built updates and O&M inputs.
• Experience supporting factory/site/integration/test activities and final acceptance.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity touchpoints for ESS.
• Strong written and verbal communication for stakeholder coordination.
• Willingness to travel to active project sites, including secure facilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and provide technical support for access control, intrusion detection, and video management systems.
• Develop device layouts, risers, and network/server architecture inputs.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity teams and other control systems.
• Prepare as-built updates, O&M inputs, and integration interfaces.
• Support factory, site, and final acceptance testing.
• Travel to project sites, including secure facilities.
