Job summary

Apogee Research in Arlington, VA seeks a Program Manager to oversee research and development programs—from funding through delivery—bridging customers and technical execution teams. This full‑time, in‑person role requires handling multiple programs, both unclassified and classified, with travel and a TS/SCI eligible background.

The ideal candidate will manage budgets, schedules, and staffing across complex DoD contracts, coordinate with PI leadership and executive teams, and ensure compliance

Qualifications

• BS or BA with ability to comprehend highly technical subject matter
• Experience as a program manager on DoD contracts, including classified contracts
• Proven record of meeting deadlines and delivering all contract deliverables
• Experience in proposal management (unclassified and classified) and familiarity with proposal color reviews
• Ability to analyze cost and schedule to identify program risk
• Experience producing action items, metrics, and risk mitigation plans
• Track record of successful customer, team, and senior management interaction
• Ability to multitask and set priorities in deadlines across multiple projects and teams
• Comfort working on programs building weapon systems in support of national security

Responsibilities

• Ensure contracts are funded, executed on schedule and on budget with aligned technical efforts
• Submit accurate and professional contractual deliverables on time
• Coordinate among technical, IT, security, finance, and management teams to run projects on time and within budget
• Plan and manage staff allocations for project success in a research-based environment
• Manage multiple programs concurrently and share resources across programs for customer benefit
• Manage unclassified and classified proposals and write programmatic sections of proposals
• Track project progress, budget, personnel, deliverables, schedules, and reporting
