Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Network Engineer to support a DoD network environment based in Quantico, VA. You will design, integrate, test, and troubleshoot large-scale network infrastructure for Navy/Marine Corps operations focusing on routing, security, and multi-vendor tech.

Responsibilities include configuring BGP/EIGRP/OSPF/VRF, deploying MPLS, ACLs, IPSec, VPNs, and FortiGate/Juniper appliances, while coordinating with Government leads and ensuring robust network performance.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VRF).
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, MPLS, ACLs, IPSec, and security technologies.
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet/FortiGate, or comparable enterprise platforms.
• Strong TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, ports and protocols knowledge.
• Experience with network security, web filtering, proxy technologies, and HTTP/HTTPS inspection.
• ITIL v3 Foundation certification required.
• Professional-level certs such as CCNP Security, JNCIP-SEC, FCNSP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, integrate, test, and troubleshoot complex LAN, LAN/WAN networks.
• Support large-scale network engineering initiatives with Government leads.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing technologies (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VRF).
• Implement network security technologies including MPLS, ACLs, IPSec, L2 VPN, and firewalls.
• Design/support multi-vendor environments using Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet and others.
• Configure-focused FortiGate/Juniper security appliances and enterprise firewalls.
• Support DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, capacity management, traffic analysis, and network cutovers.
