Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to support a mission-critical DoD network environment based in Quantico, VA. The role focuses on designing, integrating, testing, and troubleshooting large-scale networks for Navy and Marine Corps operations with emphasis on routing, security, and multi-vendor gear.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance Required.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment and routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VRF).
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, MPLS, ACLs, IPSec, and network security technologies.
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet/FortiGate, or comparable enterprise networking platforms.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, routing, ports, and protocols.
• ITIL v3 Foundation certification required; professional certifications preferred (CCNP Security, JNCIP-SEC, FCNSP).

• Support large-scale network engineering initiatives and daily engineering activities with Government technical leads.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing technologies including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and VRF.
• Implement network security technologies including MPLS, ACLs, IPSec, L2 VPNs, and firewalls.
• Design and support multi-vendor network environments utilizing Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and other enterprise networking technologies.
• Configure and troubleshoot FortiGate, Juniper Security Appliances, and enterprise firewall technologies.
• Support DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, capacity management, traffic analysis, and network cutovers.

Compensation for the Network Engineer Includes:

• Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 depending on experience.
