Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Controller / Network Engineer to support mission-critical DoD network infrastructure. This on-site role is at Scott AFB, IL with opportunities in Pearl Harbor, HI, and involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and activation of secure networks in a 24/7 environment.

The candidate should have 2+ years in network ops or NOC, experience with Cisco/Juniper, routing protocols (BGP/OSPF/ISIS), VLANs, VPNs, and active clearance with DoD certifications.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of network engineering, network operations, or NOC experience.
• Experience with Cisco and/or Juniper technologies, routers, switches, LAN/WAN environments, and IP-based transport networks.
• Knowledge of routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VLANs, VRFs, VPNs, TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS; strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Active Secret clearance required with ability to obtain/maintain Top Secret clearance; TS/SCI preferred.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot a live global DoD network using enterprise monitoring and management tools.
• Perform network configuration, implementation, testing, activation, and performance monitoring of devices and services.
• Manage incident tickets, service orders, and change requests with accurate documentation and procedures.
• Coordinate with customers, engineers, DISA stakeholders, vendors, and operations teams for service activations and issue resolution.
• Support fault management, alarm surveillance, circuit troubleshooting, and service restoration in a 24/7 environment.
