Job summary

KBR in Herlong, California, seeks an Air Conditioning/HVAC Mechanic (Contingency) to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems in support of TACOM operations.

The ideal candidate will read schematics, diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safety, environmental, and quality standards on mission-critical equipment. Willingness to work shifts as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• 3–5 years of HVAC or refrigeration maintenance experience.
• EPA Section 608 Certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate tools.
• Perform preventive maintenance per manuals and schedules.
• Read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Charge, recover, and handle refrigerants per environmental rules.
• Maintain maintenance records and comply with safety standards.
• Coordinate with supervisors and staff regarding status and repairs.
