Job summary

CSCI Consulting, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled General Ledger SME to support a Tiger Team initiative focused on DoD financial systems and accounting practices.

The role emphasizes data integrity, reconciliation, and compliance, with onsite work 2-3 days per week in Washington, DC. The candidate will handle USSGL-based reconciliation, journal vouchers, and auditing support, leveraging DoD systems like GFEBS, DEAMS, and NERP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• DoD Secret clearance
• Must be local to the Washington, D.C. area
• Willing and able to work onsite 2-3 days per week
• Experience in DoD general ledger accounting and financial reconciliation
• Strong understanding of USSGL, SFIS, and DoD financial systems (e.g., GFEBS, DEAMS, NERP, or similar)
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of the Department of Defense's Budgetary to Proprietary relationships within the USSGL
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Creativity and adaptability in problem-solving
• Ability to work with clients to understand their needs
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Professional presence

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level support in financial reconciliation and financial reporting using the USSGL
• Prepare, review, and validate Journal Vouchers to ensure accuracy and compliance with DoD regulations
• Apply knowledge of SFIS to ensure proper classification of financial data
• Analyze and resolve Treasury Tie Points discrepancies between feeder systems and the general ledger
• Identify and correct Abnormal Balances to ensure proper resolution
• Interpret and apply Posting Logic for proper transaction recording
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support audit readiness and financial improvement initiatives
• Demonstrated experience and understanding of the DoD's Budgetary to Proprietary relationships within USSGL
